BREAKING - New Pickleball Team League Trials



Dear Pickleball Players and Club Leaders,



We’re excited to announce the launch of trial weekday pickleball leagues in Richmond Hill this summer, sponsored by Pickleball Partners and powered by the Canadian Amateur Pickleball League (CAPL) platform. This platform makes managing teams, scheduling matches, and tracking results easy — for both players and captains.



If you're passionate about growing the game and want to be part of a fun, team-based format, we want you involved.



League Format:



- Teams of 6 players (carry subs as needed)

- 3 rounds of doubles per match (2 games per round = 6 total games per player)

- Points: 2 points for a win, 1 point for scoring 8 or more

- Game format (to 11 or 15, rally or traditional scoring) will be finalized based on survey feedback

- All matches take place weekday/ weekend or evenings at Richmond Green Pop-up Courts



Divisions under consideration:



- Men’s and Ladies’ divisions: under 2.5, under 3.0, under 3.5 and 4.5

- Mixed divisions: under 2.5, under 3.0, under 3.5 and 4.5



We are starting with 2–4 divisions (4 teams in each division), depending on interest.



Cost:

- $30 per player for six weeks or $150 per team (team captains collect and submit payment)

- Enter a full team (player ratings must be verifiable) or sign up as an individual player and we’ll match you



Share this with other groups, clubs, captains, and players — help us build momentum.



This is a great way to have fun, compete in balanced matches, and experience amateur pickleball leagues. There’s no impact on GPN or DUPR ratings, but we’ll use existing ratings to ensure fair, competitive matchups. We encourage players to build team spirit with team names and team shirts.
